Cheyenne is a 15 year old 3/4 Arab & 1/4 Saddle bred mix. Cheyenne was owned by Dan Barto and given to his son (Rick) and then became a part of Promise Land Ministry. Since Cheyenne was around from the beginning, he has been instrumental in the development of the Ministry. For the last 8 years Cheyenne has given his time, gifts and talents to giving pony rides to kids, trail blazing, day camps to inner city kids, nuzzling the hurt and showing a personality of a breed all his own. Personality is what makes Cheyenne a horse loved by many who ride him from his chortling good morning "Hi" to his happy horse trail ride noises he is always a character. I swear this horse talks! We almost lost this wonderful horse about 2 years ago when he choked eating his grain and some aspirated into his lungs. He was taken to the Stillwater vet to be tubed and had barely recovered when he injured his back right hock and was out of service most of last year. The good news is that Cheyenne is back this year healthy, happy and rearing (not literally) to go!

Dusty is an 11 Year full Arab. He has been with Promise Land Ministries

for 5-1/2 years. Dusty has a message of hope for all people! Dusty was kicked by another horse when he was under 2 years old and broke some ribs. It was questionable if he would survive because he was down in the pasture and unable to stand. Dusty was able to stand again but because of his weakened condition the other horses picked on him so it was difficult for him to get to the hay bales for food. Dusty came to us under weight and had severe muscle atrophy in his hind quarters. Dusty was put on a weight gaining and exercise program per our favorite vet Lisa Vandeberg of Painted Pony Equine.

He also started his ground work to become a PLM trail horse even though it was uncertain if he could ever be ridden. Dusty went to work on a 1300 lb round bale, special grain and exercise on the Promise Land Hills. By spring Dusty was able to be ridden and did everything he was asked of the first time he had a rider. He did so well he had a 5 year old ride him the first year he was broke! Today Dusty is working hard as an important part of the Promise Land Ministry and is a very proud horse, happy to work and great with kids or beginner riders. Dusty is an example of what God can do with the broken, those that are down and struggling to survive.
